Holly is the daughter of Patsy and Steve Cullen. She spent part of her childhood on Prince of Wales Island, in Craig, Alaska, and then St. Helens, Oregon. She has two children with her former husband, Insomniac promoter Pasquale Rotella. Madison is a stage name.
Holly’s paternal grandfather was Arnold Walter Cullen (the son of Walter Hamilton Cullen and Othelia Margaret Nicks). Arnold was born in Dubuque, Iowa, to parents who were also born there. Walter was the son of Alexander C. Cullen, who was an Irish emigrant, from County Cavan; and of Ella Mae Bennett, who was of Irish ancestry. Othelia was the daughter of Arnold Peter Nicks, whose father was from Luxembourg, and whose mother was German; and of Elisabeth Fix, whose parents were also German.
Holly’s paternal grandmother was Erma Loretta Timmerman (the daughter of Frank Joseph Timmerman and Anna Margareth/Margaretha Reisweber). Erma was born in Dubuque, Iowa. Frank was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, the son of Walter Timmerman, who was Dutch; and of Maria Hametner, who was Austrian. Anna was born in Amorbach, Bavaria, Germany, the daughter of Joseph Carl Reisweber and Anna Hamm.
Holly’s maternal grandfather was Clyde DeBusk (the son of Samuel Jasper DeBusk and Columbia Emeline Thomas). Clyde was born in Hiawatha, Kansas, and had deep roots in the U.S. Samuel was the son of Pvt. John Wesley DeBusk and Emeline Widener. Columbia was the daughter of James Vernon Thomas, Jr. and Susannah Rouse.
Holly’s maternal grandmother was Lillian Margaret Bodle (the daughter of Joseph Robert Bodle and Edna Pearl Irey). Lillian was born in O’Neill, Nebraska, and had deep roots in the U.S. Joseph was the son of Martin Harris Bodle and Mary Elizabeth Naysmith. Edna was the daughter of Ira Eden Irey and Sarah Ann Stottler.
