Horst Buchholz, full name Horst Werner Buchholz, was a German actor. He was the son of Maria Hasenkamp, and of an unknown father. He took on the name of his stepfather Hugo Buchholz, a shoemaker, whom his mother had married in 1938. Horst was evacuated to Silesia during WWII.
Horst was married to French actress Myriam Bru, until his death, with whom he had two children; including American/French/German actor Christopher Buchholz.
