Ian Kessner is a Canadian film writer, producer, and director. He has co-directed the film Wes Craven Presents ‘Carnival of Souls’ (1998), and directed the film Lost After Dark , which he also co-wrote.

He is the son of Rhona and Norman Kessner.

Ian’s paternal grandfather was Abraham Jacob “Abe” Kessner (the son of Isaac Kastner). Abraham was born in Rădăuți, Radauti, Suceava County, Romania.

Ian’s paternal grandmother was Tobie Fine (the daughter of Wolfe Fine and Esther Ashkenazy). Tobie was a Russian Jewish emigrant. Esther was the daughter of Moshe Ashkenazy.
