India Eisley is an American actress.

She is the daughter of musician David Glen Eisley and Argentinian actress Olivia Hussey (born Olivia Osuna). Her father has English, Scottish, and German ancestry. Her mother was of Spanish and Scottish descent; she moved to London at an early age.

India’s paternal grandfather was actor Anthony Eisley, also billed as Fred Eisley and Tony Eisley (born Frederick Glendinning/Glendenning Eisley, the son of Frederick Glendinning Eisley and Julia Dorff Moore). Anthony was born in Pennsylvania. India’s great-grandfather Frederick was the son of John Frederick Eisley and Isabella Mary Aitken, who was born in Kent, England, to Scottish parents. India’s great-grandmother Julia was the daughter of Joseph Hampton Moore and Adelaide Stone Flamsburg. Joseph was a Republican politician, who served as Mayor of Philadelphia, from 1920 to 1923, and again from 1932 to 1935, and a Member of the U.S. House of Representatives from Pennsylvania, from 1906 to 1920.

India’s paternal grandmother was Judith Tubbs (the daughter of Raymond Arthur Tubbs and Marion/Marian Cecelia/Cecilia Rogers). Judith was born in Michigan. Raymond was the son of Guy Lafayette Tubbs and Mary Alice Broadbent, who was Canadian. Marion was the daughter of Alexander Thompson Rogers and Mary Louise Johnston/Johnson.

India’s maternal grandfather was named Osvaldo Ribó (born Andrés Osuna). Osvaldo was born in Victoria, Entre Ríos, Argentina, with Spanish ancestry, and was a famous tango and opera singer.

India’s maternal grandmother was Joy Alma Hussey (the daughter of Leonard Hussey and Dora Emilia Lean). Joy was a legal secretary. Leonard was Scottish. Dora was born in Balcarce, Buenos Aires, the daughter of John Lean and Christina Paterson Orr, who were from Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Scotland.

In her autobiography, The Girl on the Balcony: Olivia Hussey Finds Life After Romeo and Juliet , 2018, page 8, India’s mother Olivia wrote of her own parents:

For my grandmother, who ruled my father’s side of the family with an iron fist, even the idea that her grandson should love an English woman was not to be countenanced. She saw the English as nothing more than poor, vulgar potato farmers who should all be sent packing. For my mom’s family, this condescension cut deep. First, they were not English; they were from strong Scottish stock. Second, they had been in Argentina for three generations and felt entitled to call the place home. It was into these dark waters my parents waded. They were in love and, despite their families’ disapproval, they married.
