J. C. Chandor is an American filmmaker, writer, and director. He has directed the films Margin Call , All Is Lost , A Most Violent Year , Triple Frontier , and Kraven the Hunter (2024). He wrote his first three films, and co-wrote his fourth. He co-runs production company CounterNarrative Films.
His father is an investment banker. He was raised in Basking Ridge, Bernards Township, New Jersey. J. C. is married to Mary Cameron Goodyear.
J. C.’s paternal grandfather was Keith Feucheres Chandor (the son of Jack Arthur Feucheres Chandor and Mabel Wallington). Keith was born in London, England. Jack was born in New York City, New York, the son of John Arthur Chandor/Sandor, whose parents were from the Austria-Hungarian Empire, with his father having succeeded in business; and of Adeline Augusta Dickinson, whose parents were born in England.
