Jacob is the son of Melissa, a school volunteer, and John Elordi, a house painter. His surname is Basque. His father had emigrated from Markina-Xemein, Basque Country, as a child, with Jacob’s paternal grandparents. Jacob was partly raised in Melbourne.
Jacob’s paternal grandfather was named Joaquín Elordi. Joaquín was from Ondarroa, Biscay, Basque Autonomous Community, northern Spain.
