Jacques Plante was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. A goaltender, he played for the Montreal Canadiens, as well as the New York Rangers, the St. Louis Blues, the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Boston Bruins, and the Edmonton Oilers of the his National Hockey League (NHL).
Jacques was the son of Palma (Brière) and François Xavier Plante. He had two children with his wife Jacqueline Gagné.
Jacques’ paternal grandfather was François Xavier Plante (the son of Joseph Plante and Esther/Ester Eugénie/Eugéne Lefebvre). François was born in Saint-Raymond, Portneuf.
