Janeane Garofalo is an American actress, comedian, political activist, and writer. She is known for starring in the film The Truth About Cats & Dogs , and in the Wet Hot American Summer franchise.
She is the daughter of Joan Barbara (Crane) and Carmine Garofalo. Janeane was raised in Ontario, California; Madison, New Jersey; and Katy, Texas.
Janeane’s maternal grandfather was John Joseph Crane (the son of Timothy M. Crane and Mary A. Molloy). John was born in Massachusetts, to Irish parents. Timothy was the son of Thomas Crane and Mary Cummins. Janeane’s great-grandmother Mary A. was the daughter of William Molloy and Annie.
Janeane’s maternal grandmother was Mary Ellen Agnes Jennings (the daughter of Alexander Jennings and Mary Agnes McGuire/McGuiness). Janeane’s grandmother Mary Ellen was born in New York, to Irish parents.
