Janelle James is an American comedian, actress, and writer. She is known for her roles on the shows Black Monday , Abbott Elementary , Central Park , Monsters at Work , Kite Man: Hell Yeah! , and Super Duper Bunny League , the latter four in voice performance; and in the films The Garfield Movie and One of Them Days . She also wrote for Black Monday and Central Park .

Her father ran a food truck. She moved to the U.S. mainland when she was sixteen, living in New York. She has two children with her former husband, a teacher.
