Jason Demers is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. A defenceman, he played for the San Jose Sharks, Oulun Kärpät of the Finnish Liiga, the Dallas Stars, the Florida Panthers, the Arizona Coyotes, Ak Bars Kazan of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), and the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL); and was with the Canada national team.
He is the son of Guylaine and Darrell Demers. Jason has said that he discovered as an adult that he had some degree of Jewish heritage on his father’s side.
Jason’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Caron.
