Javier Báez is a Puerto Rican professional baseball player. A utility player, he plays for the Detroit Tigers of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was previously with the Chicago Cubs and the New York Mets. He is nicknamed “El Mago”/”The Magician.”
He is the son of Nelida Agosto and Ángel Luis Baez. Javier moved to Florida in 2005 with his mother and siblings. He is married to Irmarie Márquez, with whom he has a son. Irmarie’s sister, Jannieliz, is married to professional baseball player, pitcher José Berríos.
