Jean Béliveau was a Canadian professional ice hockey player. A centre, he played roughly twenty seasons with the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was nicknamed “Le Gros Bill.”

Jean was the son of Laurette and Arthur-Philippe Béliveau. He was married to Élise Couture, with whom he had a daughter.

Jean’s paternal grandfather was Philippe Béliveau (the son of Eugene Béliveau and Marie-Caroline Guillemet).

Jean’s paternal grandmother was Celina Cormier (the daughter of Moise Cormier and Louise Bellefeuille).
