Jeff Gordon is an American professional stock car racing driver, and racing executive. He drove the No. 24 Chevrolet for Hendrick Motorsports, racing full-time from 1993 to 2015. He won the Cup Series in 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2001, and the Daytona 500 in 1997, 1999, and 2005; he has three career Grand Slams and sixteen Crown Jewel races. Jeff is now the vice chairman of Hendrick. He voiced Jeff Gorvette in the Cars films.
Jeff is the son of Carol and William Gordon. His stepfather was John Bickford. His step-cousin is stock car racing driver James Bickford. He is married to Belgian model and actress Ingrid Vandebosch, with whom he has two children.
Jeff’s paternal grandfather was William Grinnell Gordon (the son of Percy Vanderlyn Gordon and Havilah/Havalah Williams). William was born in Vallejo, Solano, California. Percy was born in Wilkes-Barre, Luzerne, Pennsylvania, the son of Zelotes Grinnell Gordon, whose paternal grandfather was from Londonderry, Ireland; and of Sarah Eliza Rice. Jeff’s great-grandmother Havalah was born in Cambria, San Luis Obispo, California, the daughter of Silas Edward Williams, whose paternal grandparents were from Llanwnog, Montgomeryshire, Wales, and Steuben, Oneida, New York, respectively; and of Emma Grace Olmsted.
Jeff’s paternal grandmother was Doris May Lewis (the daughter of Howard Johnson Lewis and Ethel Mae Fultz). Doris was born in Tulare, California. Howard was born in Fayetteville, Lincoln, Tennessee, the son of Talbot Johnson Lewis and Mary Jane DeBose. Jeff’s great-trandmother Ethel was born in California, the daughter of William Amos Fultz and Eva Elizabeth Price.
Jeff’s maternal grandfather was Patrick Arthur Houston (the son of Adelbert Avery Houston and Anna Margaret Hickey). Patrick was born in White Pine, Nevada. Adelbert was born in Ellis County, Kansas, the son of Ira Houston and Ida Alice Hitchcock, whose father was from Jericho, Chittenden, Vermont.
