Jenji Kohan is an American television writer and producer. She is the creator of the comedy-drama series Weeds and Orange Is the New Black .
Jenji was born in Los Angeles, California, to Rhea (Arnold) and Alan W. “Buz” Kohan, who were both from New York City. They are pictured here and here . Jenji is married to writer and journalist Christopher Noxon, with whom she has three children. Christopher is a convert to Judaism. His sister is screenwriter and television producer Marti Noxon .
Jenji’s paternal grandfather was named Charles Kohan. Charles was born in Romania.
