Jenn Wasner is an American singer, songwriter, and musician. She is one half of indie rock duo Wye Oak, with Andy Stack. She also has a solo project, Flock of Dimes; and has been a part of collaboration Dungeonesse, with Jon Ehrens; and indie folk band Bon Iver. Justin Vernon has also been a member of Bon Iver.

Jenn’s paternal grandfather was Robert C. Wasner (the son of Charles Henry Wasner and Jean Van Valkenburg). Robert was born in Columbia, New York. Charles was the son of Edward Wassner, who was of German descent; and of Lulu M. Lezette, whose paternal grandfather was French-Canadian. Jenn’s great-grandmother Jean was the daughter of Claude Edward Van Valkenburgh and Elizabeth Alexander Gurtler, who was born in Scotland, to an Austrian father and a Scottish mother.

Jenn’s paternal grandmother was Ruth M. Geoffroy (the daughter of Nicholas Geoffroy, Jr. and Nina E. Smalley). Ruth was born in Carmel, New York. Nicholas was the son of Nicholas Geoffrey, who was from New Haven, Connecticut; and of Marguerite Marie Dewey, who was from Oakland, California. Jenn’s great-grandmother Nina was the daughter of Raymond D. Smalley and Sarah Catherine Doughtery, who was of Irish heritage.

Jenn’s maternal grandfather was Wallace Wilson Fletcher (the son of Herman Wilson Fletcher and Lottie May Foster). Wallace was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to parents from Virginia. Herman was the son of William Sidney Foster and Georgia Ann Dutton. Lottie was the daughter of John William Foster and Lattie Gilbert Ingram.

Jenn’s maternal grandmother was Bernadette Essie Lee Earnest (the daughter of William Arthur Earnest and Helen Bridget Burke). Bernadette was born in Baltimore, Maryland. William was the son of Charles Earnest and Carrie Miller. Helen was the daughter of Peter Joseph Burke and Margaret Gertrude Shea, and was of Irish heritage.
