Jerry Siegel was an American comic book writer. Along with Joe Shuster , he created the DC Comics superhero Superman (Clark Kent). He was also known as Joe Carter and Jerry Ess.
Jerry was the son of Sarah (Fein/Fine) and Mitchell Siegel (born Mikhel Segalovich). His parents were Lithuanian Jewish immigrants. He was married to model Joanne Siegel, until his death. He had a son with his former wife Bella Lifshitz, and a daughter with Joanne.
Jerry’s paternal grandfather was named Nathan Siegel.
Jerry’s maternal grandparents were named Myer Fein/Fine and Lillie.
