Jim Verraros is an American singer, songwriter, and actor. He placed ninth on the first season of American Idol . He has appeared in the Eating Out films.
He was born in Mount Prospect, and raised in nearby Crystal Lake, Illinois. His parents lost their hearing as children, and Jim is fluent in American Sign Language.
He has said :

Jim’s paternal grandmother was Rebecca Petruleas/Petrouleas (the daughter of Harry Petrouleas and Evangelia Lambrineas). Harry and Evangelia were from Kardamyli, Greece.
