Joan Vohs was an American model, dancer, and film and television actress. Her roles included the films Yes Sir, That’s My Baby ; Girls’ School , As You Were (1951), Fort Ti , Vice Squad (1953), Crazylegs , Sabrina (1954), Cry Vengeance , Fort Yuma , Terror at Midnight , and Lure of the Swamp . She was also credited as Joan Vohs Stephens and Elinor Joan Vohs.
Joan was the daughter of Josephine Frances and William Halliday Vohs. She performed with The Rockettes. Joan was married to John G. Stephens, until her death, with whom she had two children. She was a Sunday school teacher.
Joan’s paternal grandfather was Henry John Bernhard/Bernard Vohs (the son of Henry John Vohs and Caroline Elizabeth Peters). Henry was born in Germany.
Joan’s paternal grandmother was Elinor/Elenor Marion Bauer (the daughter of Christian Henry Bauer and Emily Mary Meyer). Elinor was born in Manhattan, New York City. Christian was a German immigrant.
