Joe Morgan was an American professional baseball player. A second baseman, he played for the Houston Colt .45s/Astros, the Cincinnati Reds, the Houston Astros, the San Francisco Giants, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Oakland Athletics of Major League Baseball (MLB). He was regarded as one of the greatest second basemen to ever play the game. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame as a player in 1990.
Joe was the son of Ollie Mae and Leonard “Leon” Morgan. He was married to Theresa Behymer, until his death. He had two children with his former wife Gloria Stewart; and two children with Theresa.
Joe’s paternal grandfather was James Alfred “Jim” Morgan (the son of Andy Morgan and Sara/Sarah Jane Ricker). James was born in Bonham, Fannin County, Texas. Andy was the son of Andy White Morgan and Katherine. Sara was the daughter of Samual Luther Ricker and Catherine Cummings.
