Joe Satriani is an American songwriter, guitarist, multi-instrumentalist, and guitar teacher. He was inspired to become a guitarist when he heard Jimi Hendrix at age fourteen. He was a member of supergroup Planet Us. Sammy Hagar , Joe Satriani , and Neal Schon were also members of the group.
Joe’s paternal grandfather was Corrado Satriani (the son of Severino Satriani and Carella Delfina). Corrado was born in Piacenza, Emilia-Romagna, Italy.
Joe’s paternal grandmother was Rosa Guerci (the daughter of Giovanni Guerci and Giazia Barbara). Rosa was born in Arelli, near Bobbio, Emilia-Romagna.
Joe’s maternal grandparents likely were named James Volpe and Mary. They are said to have been from Bari, Apulia.
