Joe Simon was an American comic book writer, artist, editor, and publisher. Along with Jack Kirby , he created the superhero Captain America (Steve Rogers), as well as many other prominent comic book characters.
Joe was the son of Rose (Kurland) and Harry Simon. His parents were Russian Jewish immigrants. His father was raised in Leeds, England.
Joe’s paternal grandparents were Hyman Samuel Simon and Etty/Etta Ruth Pollack.
Joe’s maternal grandparents were Simon Kurland and Bale Jackel.
