Joel Oulette is a Canadian actor. His roles include the shows Trickster , Ruby and the Well , Nancy Drew , My Life with the Walter Boys , Avatar: The Last Airbender , Don’t Even , and Splinter Cell: Deathwatch , the films Alpha (2018), Monkey Beach , Cascade , Can I Get a Witness? , and Here (2024), and the made-for-tv movie Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee . He has hosted the documentary series Warrior Up!
He is a member of the Red River Métis and Cumberland House Cree nations of Medicine Hat, Alberta. His mother has also acted. His sister is model and health and wellness advocate Shayla Stonechild.
Joel’s maternal grandfather was Raymond Arnold Joseph Oulette (the son of David William Oulette and Esther Marguerite Julie Cadotte). Raymond was born in Flin Flon, Manitoba, to Métis parents. Esther was the daughter of Edouard Cadotte and Isabelle Linklater.
Joel’s maternal grandmother was Florence Gail Arnott (the daughter of William Young Arnott and Florence Watson). Joel’s grandmother Florence was born in Roblin, Manitoba. William was born in Kinross-shire, Scotland, the son of John Arnott and Janet Whyte Young. Joel’s great-grandmother Florence was born in Manitoba, to an English father, Leonard Watson, and a Scottish mother, Annie Nevay.
