John Mackey was an American professional football player. A tight end, he played for the Baltimore Colts and the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame as a player in 1992.
John was the son of Dora (Hill) and Walter Raymond Mackey.
John’s paternal grandfather was named Walter Mackey.
