John Schneider is an American actor and country music singer. He is known for his roles on the shows The Dukes of Hazzard , Smallville , Hero Factory , in voice performance; and The Haves and the Have Nots ; in the films Eddie Macon’s Run , Cocaine Wars , The Curse (1987), Speed Zone , Exit to Eden , Snow Day (2000), and Sydney White ; and in the made-for-tv movies Christmas Comes to Willow Creek , Night of the Twisters , and Lake Placid 2 .
He is the son of Shirley and John Schneider, a pilot who served in the U.S. Air Force. His brother, Robert, was an artist. John moved with his mother to Atlanta, Georgia, when he was fourteen.
John is married to political pundit Dee Dee (Benkie) Sorvino; Dee Dee was the widow of actor Paul Sorvino . He was previously married to his producing partner, Alicia Allain, until her death. Alicia owned Maven Entertainment. He has a daughter with his former wife Elvira “Elly” Castle. John is a born-again Christian.
