Johnny Bucyk is a Canadian professional ice hockey player. A left wing, he played for the Detroit Red Wings, and, mostly, with the Boston Bruins, of the National Hockey League (NHL). He is regarded as one of the greatest hockey players, and was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame. He was also listed on the “100 Greatest NHL Players” in 2017.
Johnny is the son of Pearl and Samuel Bucyk. His parents were Ukrainian, from Butsiv, Yavoriv Raion, Lviv Oblast. His brother, William Bucyk, and nephew, Randy Bucyk, have also been professional ice hockey players. Johnny was married to Anne, until her death, with whom he has three children.
