Jon Foreman is an American musician. He is the lead singer, guitarist, main songwriter, and co-founder of alternative rock band Switchfoot. They are known for their songs “Dare You to Move” and “Meant to Live.”
Jon is the son of Jan and Mark Foreman, who has been senior pastor of North Coast Calvary Chapel. His family moved to Massachusetts and Virginia Beach, Virginia, during his childhood. He is married to Emily Masen, with whom he has two children.
Jon’s paternal grandfather was Hugh Howell Foreman, Jr. (the son of Hugh Howell Foreman and Flossie Opal van Valkenburg). Jon’s grandfather Hugh was born in California. Jon’s great-grandfather Hugh was the son of Eugene Willard Foreman and Mary Pearl Powers.
