Jonathan Jakubowicz is a Venezuelan filmmaker and writer. He directed and wrote the films Secuestro Express , Hands of Stone , and Resistance (2020); and directed episodes of the shows Lynch and Prófugos . He wrote the novels Las Aventuras de Juan Planchard and La Venganza de Juan Planchard . For Resistance , he won the German Film Peace Prize, and a spot on Algemeiner’s “100 people who most positively influenced Jewish life in 2020.” He is also known as Jonathan J. Zielinski.
He was born in Venezuela, to Ashkenazi Jewish parents, and grew up with Holocaust survivors on both sides of his family. He is a citizen of Venezuela, Poland, and the U.S.
