Jorge Posada is a Puerto Rican professional baseball player. A catcher, he played seventeen seasons for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB).
Jorge was born in Santurce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, to a Cuban father, Jorge Posada, and to a Dominican Republic mother. His father was a scout for the Colorado Rockies. His uncle, Leo Posada, was a professional baseball player. Jorge is married to model, actress, and attorney Laura Mendez, with whom he has two children. He is Catholic.
One of Jorge’s grandfathers is named Saúl Posada De las Casas.
