Joy Reid is an American correspondent, television host, and political commentator. She has worked for at MSNBC, and hosted the shows The ReidOut and AM Joy . She has also been billed as Joy-Ann Reid.

Her father, Oren B. Lomena, an engineer, was originally from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of the Congo. Her mother, who was African-Guyanese, was a college professor and nutritionist. She was raised partly in Denver, Colorado, and then moved to Flatbush, Brooklyn. She is married to documentary film editor Jason Reid, with whom she has three children.
