Juliet Stevenson is an English actress. Her roles include the films Truly, Madly, Deeply ; The Trial (1993), Emma (1996), Bend It Like Beckham , Nicholas Nickleby (2002), Mona Lisa Smile , Being Julia , Pierrepoint: The Last Hangman , Infamous , Breaking and Entering (2006), The Secret of Moonacre , Diana (2013), and London Unplugged , television’s A Doll’s House (1992), The Politician’s Wife , and Accused (2010), and many acclaimed stage performances.

Juliet is the daughter of Virginia Ruth, a teacher, and Michael Guy Stevens, an army officer, who worked for the British Army’s Royal Engineers. She was partly raised in Germany, Australia, and Malta, for her father’s job, and attended boarding school in London.

Juliet is married to anthropologist, writer, director, and lecturer Hugh Brody, with whom she has two children.

Juliet’s maternal grandfather’s surname was Marshall.
