Justine Frischmann is a British artist/painter and musician. She was a guitarist and co-founder of rock band Suede, and the lead singer and co-founder of, and guitarist for, Britpop rock band Elastica.
Her father, Wilem Frischmann, is a leading engineer, and was chairman of the internationally recognised firm of consulting engineers Pell Frischmann. He was born to a Jewish family, in Ungvar, then in Kingdom of Hungary, now Uzhhorod, Ukraine. He survived the Holocaust, and came to England c. 1946. Justine’s mother is Russian Jewish. Justine was raised in Twickenham.
Justine is married to climate scientist and meteorology professor Ian Faloona. She lives in the U.S.
