K.C. Jones was an American professional basketball player, and coach. A point guard, he played his entire professioanl career for the Boston Celtics of the National Basketball Association (NBA), winning eight championships with the team. He coached Brandeis, Harvard, as an assistant; the Los Angeles Lakers, as an assistant; the San Diego Conquistadors, the Capital/Washington Bullets, the Milwaukee Bucks, as an assistant; the Boston Celtics, as both assistant and head coach; the Seattle SuperSonics, as both assistant and head coach; the Detroit Pistons, as an assistant, and the New England Blizzard.
K.C. was the son of Eula Daniels and Casey “K.C.” Jones, who was a factory worker and cook. He was named after his father. After his parents divorced, he moved to San Francisco, California, with his mother. He had five children with his former wife Beverly Cain; and one child with his wife Ellen. Beverly was the sister of professional basketball player Carl Cain. His son, Kipper, played college basketball.
