Kane Parsons, also known as Kane Pixels, is an American YouTuber, filmmaker, director, and visual artist. He created, directed, wrote, composed the music for, and animated semi-anthological web series Backrooms and mystery thriller web series The Oldest View . He also directed his series’ adaptation, the blockbuster film Backrooms (2026). He is one of the youngest people to direct a major Hollywood film.
His father is a video game developer. His mother is a therapist. Kane was raised in Petaluma.

Elmer was born in West Tisbury, Dukes, Massachusetts, the son of Horace Williams Athearn and Clara Baker Look. Kane’s great-grandmother Elizabeth was born in Illinois, the daughter of George Brehm, whose paternal grandparents, and maternal grandfather, were German, with roots in Hesse-Kassel and Prussia; and Katherine Bennett.
