Kerri Strug is an American gymnast. She was a member of the victorious all-around women’s gymnastics team at the 1996 Summer Olympics, and performed the vault that won the gold medal. She is 4′8″.

Kerri is the daughter of Melanie and Burt Strug, a cardiovascular surgeon. She is married to attorney Robert Fischer, with whom she has two children.

Kerri’s paternal grandfather was Lawrence H. Strug (the son of Benjamin Itzak Baer Strug and Ida Strug). Lawrence was born in Pennsylvania, the son of Russian Jewish parents. Benjamin was born in Vitebsk, the son of Aaron Strug and Lipsha Brockman. Ida was born in Yekatarinislav, the daughter of Yontiff Lippman Leopold Strug, who was born in Vitebsk, and of Ethel Slipakoff, who was born in Paltava. Benjamin and Ida were cousins.

Kerri’s paternal grandmother was named Jenny Salomon (the daughter of Abe Salomon and Mollie S.). Jenny was born in Louisiana, to a Polish Jewish father and Lithuanian Jewish mother.
