Through Kevin’s maternal grandmother, he is a fifth cousin, once removed, of singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist Benson Boone ; and a sixth cousin, once removed, of director and writer Matt Piedmont . Kevin’s great-great-great-great-grandparents, Samuel Gates and Lydia Downer, were also Benson’s five times great-grandparents. Kevin’s six times great-grandparents, Thomas Rich and Ann Poole, were also Matt’s paternal five times great-grandparents.
