Kiefer Sherwood is an American professional ice hockey player. A forward, he plays for the San Jose Sharks of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was previously with the Anaheim Ducks, the Colorado Avalanche, the Nashville Predators, and the Vancouver Canucks.
He is the son of Yuko and Roger Sherwood. His brother is professional ice hockey player Kole Sherwood. Kiefer is married to Ariel.
Kiefer’s paternal grandfather was Marvin L. Schevitsky/Sherwood (the son of Morris Schevitzky and Sophia Schwartz). Marvin was born in Missouri, to Russian Jewish parents. Sophia was the daughter of Emil Schwartz, who was born in Pinsk, Belarus; and of Eva Lieberman, who was born in Poland.
Kiefer’s paternal grandmother was June Beverly Rudin (the daughter of Rachmiel/Robert Rudenski/Rudin and Frances Dorothy Rothman). June was born in Missouri. Rachmiel was a Jewish emigrant, evidently from Vilna, Lithuania. Frances was born in Arkansas, to Romanian Jewish parents.
