Kristofer Hivju is a Norwegian actor, producer, and writer. He is known for playing Giantsbane on the series Game of Thrones . He appears in both Norwegian and English-speaking productions.
Kristofer is the son of actors Erik Hivju and Lieselotte Holmene. His cousin is actress, director, and screenwriter Isabelle Nanty. He is married to communicator, television presenter, director, and journalist Gry Molvær Hivju, with whom he has two children.
Kristofer’s paternal grandfather was Einar Brun Hansen/Hivju (the son of Martin Anton Hansen and Hanna Fredrikke Dorthea Brun). Einar was born in Trondheim, Trøndelag, Norway. Martin was the son of Anton Thode Hansen and Anna Martha Sandberg. Hanna was the daughter of Paul Emil Reisner Brun and Christence “Christine” Andersdatter Brun.
