Kylian Mbappé is a French professional footballer. A forward, he plays for Real Madrid, and the France national team, the latter of which he also captains. He was previously with Monaco II, Monaco, and Paris Saint-Germain. He became the youngest French player to score at a World Cup, in 2018. His transfer fee to Paris Saint-Germain, at €145 million plus €35 million in add-ons, made him the then-second most expensive player ever, behind teammate Neymar.
He is the son of Fayza Lamari, a handball player, and Wilfried Mbappé, a football coach and Kylian’s agent. His father is from Djébalè island, Cameroon, and his mother is Algerian, of Kabyle origin. He was raised in Bondy, Seine-Saint-Denis, a commune. His brother is professional footballer Ethan Mbappé and his adoptive brother is professional footballer Jirès Kembo Ekoko. He speaks French, English, and Spanish. Kylian is a practising Christian.
