Lorraine Warren was an American paranormal investigator, author, and lecturer. Along with her husband, Ed Warren , she investigated reported hauntings and possessions; said to have been over 10,000 cases. She was a self-described clairvoyant, light trance medium, and demonologist. With Ed, she founded the New England Society for Psychic Research (NESPR) in 1952. She is most prominently portrayed by Vera Farmiga in The Conjuring franchise.
She was the daughter of Georgiana/Georgian Marie (Hamilton) and James Joseph “Jim” Moran, a power plant engineer. Lorraine and Ed had a daughter. She was a Roman Catholic.
