Lothar Matthäus is a German football player, manager, and pundit. A midfielder and sweeper, he played for 1. FC Herzogenaurach, Borussia Mönchengladbach, Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, and MetroStars, and the Germany national team and West Germany/Germany national team. He managed Rapid Wien, Partizan, Hungary, Atlético Paranaense, Red Bull Salzburg, as an assistant; Maccabi Netanya, and Bulgaria. He is the most capped German player of all time (150 caps). He captained West Germany to victory in the 1990 FIFA World Cup.
Lothar is the son of Katharina Monika Lohmeier and Heinz Matthäus (Karl Heinz Hermann Matthäus). He has four children and has been married five times.
