Louis Ashbourne Serkis, also known as Louis Serkis, is an English actor. He starred as the title character in the film The Kid Who Would Be King . His roles also include the films Alice Through the Looking Glass (2016), Mary and the Witch’s Flower , The Current War , Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle , Allelujah , and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple ; and the series Noddy, Toyland Detective ; Taboo , SS-GB , The Queen’s Gambit , No Return , Out There , and Wild Cherry .
Louis is the son of actress Lorraine Ashbourne and actor, director, and author Andy Serkis . He is the brother of actors Ruby Ashbourne Serkis and Sonny Ashbourne Serkis. His aunt, Jayne Ashbourne, has also acted.
Louis’s paternal grandfather was named Clement F./Georgis/George Serkis. Clement was from Iraq, and was of Armenian descent.
Louis’s paternal grandmother was Lylie Alice Mina Weech (the daughter of George Strudwick Weech and Jeanne/Jean S. Sayegh). Lylie was born in Cuckfield, Sussex, England.
