Lynn Evans Mand, also known as Lynn Evans, was an American singer. She was a member of The Chordettes, a female pop music quartet founded in 1946 in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and known for their songs “Mr. Sandman” and “Lollipop.” Other members of the group were, at various points, Carol Buschmann , Janet Ertel , Margie Needham, Jinny Osborn , Nancy Overton , Dorothy Schwartz , and Alice Mae Spielvogel.
Lynn was the daughter of Caroline “Carrie” and George Arthur Hargate, a steelworker. Her paternal grandparents were English, from Yorkshire. Her mother was born in Ohio, to an English father and a Welsh mother. She was married to Robert B. Evans.
Lynn’s paternal grandfather was Samuel Hargate (the son of John Hargate and Georgene Haden). John was born in Wombwell, Yorkshire. Georgene was born in Huddersfield, Yorkshire.
