Lzzy Hale is an American musician. She is the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of hard rock band Halestorm, which she co-founded with her brother Arejay Hale in 1997.

She was raised on a farm.

Lzzy’s paternal grandfather was Horace Cooper Hale (the son of Terrence Coyle Hale and Claudia Mildred Cooper). Horace was born in Pennsylvania, and had deep roots in the U.S. Terrence was the son of Joshua Mitchell Hale and Charlotte Rebecca Hoshall. Claudia was the daughter of John Wesley Cooper and Rachael Ann Rodgers.

Lzzy’s paternal grandmother was Louise Amelia Flohrer (the daughter of Oswald Wilhelm Flohrer and Lena Zaspel). Louise was born in Pennsylvania, to German parents, from Saxony. Oswald was from Großweitzschen, Mittelsachsen, the son of Hugo Flohrer and Anna Fleek. Lena was from Masten, Kreis Döbeln, the daughter of Richard Oskar Zaspel and Ida Arnold.

Lzzy’s maternal grandfather was Norman Paul Graule (the son of Oscar P. Graule and Elizabeth Kiem). Norman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to German emigrants, from Baden-Württemberg. Oscar was born in Bad Cannstatt, Stuttgart, the son of Katharina Bopp. Elizabeth was born in Esslingen am Neckar, Esslingen.

Lzzy’s maternal grandmother was Elizabeth Mae Averell (the daughter of William Harrison Averell and Eliza/Elizabeth Carmean). Lzzy’s grandmother Elizabeth was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. William was the son of William Cooey Averell, whose father, and maternal grandparents, were from Northern Ireland; and of Estella May Lawson, whose father was from Denmark, and whose mother was from Pennsylvania.
