Maggie Cheung (張曼玉) is a Hong Kong actress and model. Her films include Police Story (1985), and its sequels; Call Girl ’88 , As Tears Go By , Center Stage (1991), Green Snake , Irma Vep , Comrades: Almost a Love Story , The Soong Sisters , Chinese Box , In the Mood for Love , Hero (2002), Clean (2004), and 2046 . She has often collaborated with director Wong Kar-wai. She placed second in 1983’s Miss Hong Kong Pageant.

She has ancestry in Shanghai. Maggie attended Catholic school in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, then moving to Bromley, London, England, when she was eight. She returned to Hong Kong when she was eighteen, where she began acting and modeling.
