Maggie Q is an American actress and model. She has starred in the films Live Free or Die Hard and Death of Me , and the series Nikita and Designated Survivor . She is also known as Maggie D. Quigley.
Maggie was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, U.S. Her father is American-born, and is of Polish, as well as Irish and French, descent. Her mother is Vietnamese. Her parents met when her father was stationed in Vietnam.
She became popular starring in Hong Kong movies, and took Mandarin and Cantonese lessons to aid her career.
Maggie’s paternal grandmother was Mary Theresa Gazdzik (the daughter of Alexander/Aloysius Gazdzik and Helen Nowicka). Mary was born in Buffalo, Erie, New York. Aloysius was born in New York, to Polish parents, Stanislaus/Stanley Gazdzik, who was from Krzystkowice, Lubuskie; and Katharine/Katherine Trojak. Maggie’s great-grandmother Helen was also the daughter of Polish parents, Albert Nowicki and Annie/Anna Stachowiak.
