Robert was born in North Carolina, and had deep roots in the U.S. Willard was the son of Joseph Edmund Rogers and Flora Caroline/Clara Ray. Sally was the daughter of Robert Halliburton Shaw and Truletta Maud Bevers.
Maggie’s paternal grandmother was Audrey May Paul (the daughter of Earl Henry Paul and Alice Catherine Taylor). Audrey was born in Baltimore, Maryland, and had deep American roots. Earl was the son of William Elser Paul and Minnie E. Kline, and was at least mostly of Pennsylvania Dutch (German) descent. Maggie’s great-grandmother Alice was the daughter of Edward Cooley Taylor and Edna May Rickey.
Maggie’s maternal grandfather was Joseph Anthony Dunphy, Jr. (the son of Joseph Anthony Dumphy and Anna May Sullivan). Maggie’s grandfather Joseph was born in Jersey City, New Jersey. Maggie’s great-grandfather Joseph was the son of Michael Joseph Dunphy, who was Irish, from Broadway, County Wexford; and of Mary Helena Donnelly, whose parents were also Irish. Maggie’s great-grandmother Anna was the daughter of William Sullivan, who was born in Canada, to Irish parents; and of Johanna Murphy, who was also an Irish immigrant.
Maggie’s maternal grandmother was Eugenie “Jean” Bacon (the daughter of Charles August Bacon and Susan C. Bruy). Eugenie was born in New Hyde Park, New York. Charles was the son of Joseph Eugène Bacon, who was French-Canadian; and of Eugenie Debay, who was a French immigrant. Susan was the daughter of Italian immigrants, Alfonso “Alphonso” Bruy and Assunta LaFera.
