Maitreyi Ramakrishnan is a Canadian actress. Her roles include the series Never Have I Ever , as the stand-in for Mindy Kaling ; and My Little Pony: Make Your Mark ; and the films Turning Red , Slanted , Lost in Starlight , Freakier Friday , and The Twits .

Maitreyi is the daughter of Ram Selvarajah and Kiruthiha Kulendiren. Her family are refugees from the civil war in Sri Lanka. She therefore identifies as Tamil Canadian, and not Sri Lankan.
