Malachi Barton is an American actor and singer. His roles include the made-for-tv movies Under Wraps (2021), its sequel Under Wraps 2 ; and Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires ; the shows See Dad Run , Stuck in the Middle , Fancy Nancy , The Villains of Valley View , and Locker Diaries: Zombies ; and the film Dora and the Lost City of Gold , where he played Young Diego.
His mother is singer and songwriter Felicia Barton , who was a contestant on the eighth season of American Idol . His father is guitarist and tour manager Loren Barton. A picture of Malachi with his parents can be seen here .
Malachi’s paternal grandfather is Daniel Earl “Dan” Barton (the son of William Earl Barton and Edna Lorraine Selig). Daniel was born in Florida, to parents from Indiana. William was born in Elwood, the son of Loren Earl Barton and Clarice Parson, whose father and paternal grandfather were ministers. Edna was born in Indianapolis, Marion, the daughter of Raymond Hewitt Selig, whose paternal grandparents were ethnic Germans, from Prussia and Alsace-Lorraine, respectively; and of Mary Opal Chapman. Edna was a descendant of English-born merchant, planter, and colonial administrator William Stone, who was proprietary governor of Maryland, from 1649 to 1655.
Malachi’s paternal grandmother is Becky Lee Edmonds (the daughter of Bobby Leewood/Lee Edmonds and Betty Louise Rust). Becky was born in Virginia. Bobby was born in Bassett, Henry, Virginia, the son of Samuel Harrison Edmonds and Ethel Viola Smith. Betty was born in Warwick, Virginia, the daughter of Samuel G./Cornelius “Sam” Rust and Anna Louise Maine/Main.
Malachi’s maternal grandfather is Pastor Rick Hocker (the son of The Rev. Marvin D. Hocker and Mary F. Smith). Marvin was the son of The Rev. Richard P. Hocker and Matilda Jane “Tilda” Gumm. Malachi’s great-grandmother Mary was born in Laurel, Kentucky, the daughter of Marshall Smith and Bertha Ann Hyatt.
Malachi’s maternal grandmother is Diana Davis (the daughter of Paul Eugene Davis and Joyce Eleanor Knapp). Paul was born in Richmond Dale, Ross County, Ohio, the son of Ulysses Simpson Grant Davis and Ida Dean Stoneburner.
