Marcus Semien is an American professional baseball player. A shortstop and second baseman, he played for the Chicago White Sox, the Oakland Athletics, the Toronto Blue Jays, and the Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Marcus is married to Tarah, with whom he has five children.

Marcus’ paternal grandfather is Warren James Semien (the son of Adrien Joseph Semien and Hazel Green). Warren was born in Louisiana, and is of Louisiana Creole descent. Adrien was the son of George Wilford Semien and Margie Bertha Batillia Judge. Hazel was the daughter of Chavis Joseph Green and Mary Natalie Bernard.
