Marie Dressler was a Canadian and American actress. She won the Academy Award for Best Actress for Min and Bill (1930).

She was born in Cobourg, Ontario, Canada. Her father, Alexander Rudolph Koerber, was Austrian, and had fought in the Crimean War. Her mother, Anna (Henderson), was born in Port Hope, Ontario, and had Scottish and English ancestry. Marie moved to the U.S. with her family c. the 1870s. She was married to Maine businessperson James Henry Dalton, until his death.

Marie’s paternal grandparents likely were Johann Samuel Korber and Henriette Windt.

Marie’s maternal grandfather was named George Henderson. George was born in Hope Township, Leeds, Ontario, Canada.
